on the german site, the complete holder is €24.99
the car cable is 29.99
the complete holder AND car cable is also 29.99

It's probably do do with manufacture of the items. Garmin will get stuff made to put in the box as new, so if one part is ordered on it's own more than another you have a stockpile of stuff they don't need if it's supplied as bits. It also means that instead of a complete kit someone at Garmin needs to pick the bits you order and send them. A kit is a lot easier to pick one kit and send it, especially if it arrives from the manufacturer as a kit, not bits. I also suspect the postage (do you pay one price or multiple, depending on what you order) is about the same. Probaby use a courier at a fixed price.
