Can a Tom Tom only display your actual speed?

Just got a Tom Tom XL europe and just thought it would be cool if you can use it as a type of digital GPRS speedo.... I always base my speed on my real speed, but it's very hard to read on the current display. So I was thinking if your not using the navigation function then why not..... Anyone seen anything like this?

I dont think that the TomToms are wince based but I am intending to "easily configure" my 4.3 widescreen navigo http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136328 (£75 quid or £55 for smaller screen!) and run iGo/Tomtom with Speed Sentry http://www.tchartdev.com/

That would be perfect.... had a look online but no one seems to do anything similar for the TomTom, real shame
