Seen some posts on downloading GPS tracks
I realise this is not a standard function on sat navs but can you add this feature to a "normal" sat nav? ie tom tom /garmin etc or does it have to be something else ...the profesional ones are £££££
Pricipal use is in track days to download speed round the track

Try a trackstick II - about £150 and do all that you need while being very very simple to use. It downloads a file via USB and you can save it into a Google earth file to trace your route. When you click on parts of the route it displays you speed.

PM me if you want to see a file.

I took my bike to Germany and my Garmin ZUMO 550 tracked my every move. When I got home I downloaded it onto my computer.
Garmin supplies a CD with the Zumo550 which has mapping for the whole of Western Europe and some of Eastern Europe.

When you run your track log on that program you can see where you were, when you were there and how fast you were going.

The origin - pogo drive satnav has a tracking function that works with google earth.....

....also as posted above the super trackstick is a very popular seller. i would look at the super trackstick rather than the track stick 2 as it only has a 2 meg memory where as the super version has 4 meg...

if you want more info send me a email will be happy to help...

I know Nokia N95's can do the same GPS logging too. Download some tagging software for free. Good fun - overlaying maps etc.

WM5/6 devices can use GPS Speed Sentry too - also can be used for speed cam alerts when combined with PGPSW data.

Garmin 760 will allow you to download tracks, complete with all sorts of information- time taken to complete the track, together with start and end time, total distance, area covered (if it's a circular route), average speed for complete track, and speed along various parts of the track.

Quite useful really.
