Hi,

My SD card stopped working and I've copied a GB map from a friend, but cannot get teh thing to activate as I've lost the product code that came with it.

As all TomOms come with a GB map, I didn't think there would be any issue and that it wouldn't need activating. Is tehre a way around this other than going back to TomTom to try to trace the code which I've heard is a nightmare? It's a 2007 map.

Thanks

Hi my mate had the same problem a few weeks back, you have to go to tom tom and get a new code issued, they will only do this if you have proof of purchase!!!!

That's what I suspected - I don't have proof of purchase. I certainly wont be replacing this unit with another TomTom and out of principle am not going to buy antoehr UK map.

Thanks for the advice.
