I have TomTom V5 on a PDA. Is there a way to, or a fix, thatll allow me to plan a cross border route? As far as I can see I am only able to plan a route where the start and destination are both on the same map: which means that you have to use a paper European road atlas to plan a route to a border town, then cross the border, change maps and plan from there.....

I don't know where you are travelling, but if it's western europe, the solution might be to buy the western europe map. All the countries are on the same map so you can plan routes through any or all of those countries. If it's not europe then do TomTom do a regional map that covers all the countries you need?

Obviously this is not a free solution, I think the western europe map is on sale at about £50 in the TomTom sale.

I have the 'Plus' maps for all of Western Europe including all of the countries that I need; but TT5 only seems able to plan routes within the area of the loaded map. It is only possible to load one map at a time, be that France, Germany or wherever... Each country has an individual map; combined the size would be in excess of 2GB.

We have the same set up and haven't found away of 'cross-bordering.' When went went to Germany, we had to set the borders as 'favourites' and navigate to each one individually, which became a pain in the behind after having to swap from and to England, France, Belguim and Germany there and back.

If any one can get round this it would be greatfully recieved here!
