Stick it to the outside of the driver's window and go on a track day?

Stick it on your bicycle, ride to Longleat Safari Park, see how long it remains with your bicycle when the Monkies get to you - you may have to ride like hell past the lions tho' ??

I usually burn my old maps, but WEEE regs don't allow that with electronics. Best way to get rid is sell it on ebay.

you could always reverse the polarity of the ciggy lighter adaptor... a fizzle, some smoke and a very dead sat nav!

My brother in law likes an electronics challenge (Senior electronics Test engineer) I once gave him a non working central locking black box, and he and his work mates stripped it and 'rewired' it. I gave him a dead ECU and he fixed that with 3 resistors, a diode and a bit of solder.
Last Week he took an old lap top and made it work.

On Saturday I discussed with him the use of the screen off an old dvd player to a cctv camera on the rear bumper for reversing, but the use of a sat nav screen has possibilities.

yes

Some people just see dead electronics as a challenge!

One of the directors of an AV firm that I deal with is a bit like that..... give him something that is monumentally fooked (ie a 12v device that has been connected to the mains, and has fried) and he will repair it - just for the hell of it. Nerd with a capital "N" springs to mind!

If you just make sure the english voice over has to keep reading out Spanish place names you will have your self in tears laughing which means the sat nav ends up jumping out your front window in shame!

Do what my brother did with his! Plugged it in to the 24V plug in his lorry cab! Definately dead, after the minor fire in the back of it!

Just follow it's directions untill you drown it in a canal, or park up on the railway that it has directed you to turn left onto.

Or if it's a Tomtom, just turn it on and it will usually destroy itself sooner or later.
