My internal memory is full, and i have a few updates id like to install.
I have a formatted 1gb card but when i insert it, it says no maps found.
Do i need to transfer files onto this blank card first? If so which ones.
Why doesnt it just read the maps from its internal memory (which it does when i remove the card!!?)

Thanks

Updates for a map have to go onto the memory that the map is on. So, if the map is on the main unit memory that's where the updates have to go. If the map is on a card the updates go on the card.

I have doen the map updates on the internal memery where the maps are, it was for an application update that i used the memory card for. Would it not be easier to just copy everything over from the internal memory to the memory card, then just use that?

I did something like this about a year ago. I cam't remember the exact steps but I followed a page of instructions from a link on the TomTomHome page. It worked.

Hi $nakey, I have just bought a TomTom and therefore have been searching for tips and forums to solve a few problems. I did a search and came across this page on the TomTom forum. It may be similar to your problem, but if not then have a search on the forum.
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Jonsmile
