TomTom Navigator 6 Maps - v.6.75 Western Europe
Discussion
I used to run TT Navigator 5 on my PDA and it was brilliant. Maps worked well and you could use the whole postcode to get you to your destination, excellent!! It was always reliable and no nonsense, did what it said on the tin.
I upgraded to v6.00 and all that changed. Now i can only use the first 3 digits of a postcode and then i have to specifiy address etc..., so long winded now but the map of western europe was still very good although v6.10 map of Western Europe was getting old, i'd had it a good while and i thought it was time to update to the newest v6.75.
I bought the latest v6.75 maps of Western Europe for my O2 XDA IIi, great i thought and it should be well updated from my last map....wrong!!! I have found there there are still UK roads that should have been updated long ago, that have been completed and in use for a good while now, and they aren't coming up in the latest map. Equally i can still only use the first 3 digits of a postcode so it may as well not be there as i still end up having to type in the road etc... How frustrating!!
What are TomTom playing at?? Are they taking the p1ss or what??
Other probs include the fact that because the application is installed and all stored on an SDcard, the latest version of TomTom Home doesn't see it therefore i have to use the old version that reads everything off the card via a card reader. This way i don't get the map guarantee and i'm not able to use the mapshare service either. You would think that for such a global piece of software used by millions TOMTOM would get some fundamental things right and update their maps more frequently without continously charging for new maps everytime you want to get the latest version, and in my experience there is no guarantee it will be updated at all!!!
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues with their Nav6 PDA maps or is it just me??

Do you have a file called "Great_Britain.Postal" in the "Zip" directory in the root of your memory card?
If you do have the above file and folder but full postcode searching doesn't work, try moving the Zip directory from the SD card to the \program files\navigator\ folder on the device itself.
