I've currently got a 2610 which I'm generally happy with, but one issue with it has been annoying me for a while. Namely, there seems to be a lag updating your position when you come up to intersections or on roundabouts. Unfortunately that's been leading to the classic "you should have turned here" type navigation that we associate more with backseat drivers.

Anyway, I thought this was par for the course for Satnavs until I tried Tomtom on my phone, which doesn't exhibit this behaviour. This had me wondering if the later Garmin units like the 2720 are still suffering from this lag or if they are a bit more "precise"?

There are a couple of cracking deals for refurbed 2720 on US ebay which would suit me fine as I need both US and European maps anyway...

Also "just use your phone" doesn't quite work - I do need something like the 2610 for motorbike use as it's waterproof and I've got all the mounting hardware for it. Plus I don't really want to have to fart about with two or three different Satnav systems.
