Road Angel 9000 vs Tom Tom GO 940 LIVE vs Snooper S2000

Hi

Not sure if anyone has any experience on the above units. Had my Indago Snooper stolen (it was in the glovebox) and need to replace it with a top end model.

In terms of priorities it is

Speed Cameras (as I live in London and seem to pass a camera a minute!) - I like the idea of the auto updates on the Road Angel
Mapping (including EU) although I tend to use Sat Nav as a guide along with a map rather than blindly rely on it.

Traffic would also be useful although only if the system actually works and is not like the traffic information on gantries on Motorways....

Also, need to be able to turn off the conjestion charge warnings as I pay annually.

Thanks in advance

I only have experience of the snooper S2000, not the other 2.
About a year ago, I had the same units on my short list.

I think you can turn off the congestion charge warning, but am not 100% on this, you would have to check. (or if you really want to know, I could check for you).

Speed camera warning is good. It takes about 2 minutes to update the unit, just plugging it into your PC. I do it about once a month. Camera location does not change that quickly.

I think the traffic info is good, but occasionaly it cocks up. I don't have anything to compare it to. Also, you never know had bad the traffic would have been had you gone the other way. The worst thing about the traffic, is having to stick the arial in the windscreen every trip.

Actually went for the 940 as it had the HD traffic. That seems to be a bit hit and miss in action though...

Am happyish with the unit. Speed camera warning were definetly more obvious on the Snooper. Tom tom camera icon is tiny in the top left corner and it only beeps once. The Snooper beeped all the way to the camera if you were over the speed limit.

Thanks for updating us. You can change the warning sound if you want something louder/more obvious. Please report again when you have had more experience with the unit, I am wondering whether to upgrade from my 920.
