Quite convenient really as i need to get from leamington to bristol sometime soon. Now the route its given me uses all the motorways but id prefer to use the b4455 and A428 ( fosse way) but its being an arse and wont let me take that road straight there! Any ideas ( cos im a newbie) on how i can just plan out my route with this thing? Cheeers!

If it has the itinerary planning function, then i suggest that you use TYRE software, which is pretty intuitative, and uses google maps. It should be on the TomTom disc, but can also be found here:

Or on the unit itself you can try 'Alternative Route' a few times. If it does not come up with the one you want, you have the option of 'Alternative Route Via ...'

And also on the unit itself, providing it has the itinerary function, you can set the route you want as an 'Itinerary'. It can be more convenient to do this when your unit is connected to your PC via Tomtom Home - this means you can type the place names you want to go via on a full keyboard, and can then view the route on a larger screen.

You can put a waypoint in the route(positioned anywhere on the b4455 and A428 this will then ensure that the TomTom takes you via this point thumbup
