I'm thinking of buying a F355 and would like to have Sat Nav in it (my sense of direction is useless). I can't have a TomTom or Similar because they use the cigarette lighter and i normally have my Itrip plugged in there.

Anyway I've looked up Hallfords quickly, just to see what was about and they do this one:

Which actually fits in to the Dash, but i don't think it would fit. Does anyone know if it is possible to make it fit without ripping the dash apart?

They also do this, which has a pop-up screen, which is probably the best type to go for:

Has anyone put either of these types of systems in their cars? If so how did you find them? Also if you could recommend a good system that would be great.

Thanks

I have no idea if a 355 has a single or double DIN head unit, or where it is on the car, but a cigar lighter socket is a simple permanant live circuit with a 15A fuse. It wouldnt be too hard to rewire one in stealth

Doubler is the obvious answer.

However, if it were me I'd bin the head unit and get an iPod equipped version (Alpine do some great ones for a couple of hundred quid).

Hard wiring your iPod in like this will give hugely improved sound quality, and let you plug a TomTom in (which is still the best satnav IMO).

Double din will never fit a 355, & you do not want to touch the dash!

Go for a flip like you say

if you get the second one (or the nav version being the Navsure 400i) and attempt to put it in an F355... I will hunt you down and remove the keys for the sake of petrolheads everywhere!!

It would be utter sacrilege!!

The car is a legend, you need something to do it justice - I propose this

coupled with this

The above is a one din complete in-dash unit, might be worth a look, link here

Don't worry laugh i just meant that sort of thing i.e. a pop up screen.

Thanks

Right, firstly thanks for all the help so far it's been great. Now, i don't know a great deal about in car entertainment (mostly because I've never really looked at after market stuff) so bear with me.
A Double din unit is one of the [bigger ones, like this? IMG]http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu63/lambo_lover_xx2/Stuff/Coolsatnav.jpg[/IMG]

Is there anyway of getting that to fir in a 355, where the radio is. I don't want too hack up the dash?

Thanks again.

Becker do some really nice OEM style headunits, but you can have satnav (on a small screen admittedly but not that bad) and an Ipod link without changing the look of the dash

Much more discreet, and fitted to current ferrari's if thats a concern

the Navsure halfords unit is garbage, do not go anywhere near it, particularly in a ferrari, a flip up would work, Kenwood units have garmin GPS inside and work well, I dont rate the pioneer sat nav software though.

EDIT...video showing how it works, an impressive piece of kit really

I've been looking for a single din nav' solution recently and this JVC seems good, but the Becker is probably more suitable for a Ferrari.
