Eonon E1025E 7" Sat Nav,DVD Head Unit
Discussion
Hi Guys, I'm looking for a replacement head unit for my car. At present I don't have any form of Sat Nav and am wondering about combining a sat nav in the head unit. I have seen the Eonon E1025E advertised on eBay and am wondering if anybody has any experience with these units.
Thanks
Thanks
Here's the link, It sounds like a good deal but I was hoping someone might have one?

Now the other question I have is could this unit be programed to list PH car run routes? I dont know anything about Sat Navs as I have never had one

Looks like a good unit and can send DVD to other screens at the same time as main unit is in Sat Nav etc.

Got a good shot of it

These guys are fairly local and I will see if I can drop into one of their shops and see the unit in action.

hi there just seen this post and thought i orta share my experience as i brought the eonon 1025e thinking "this has to be too good too be true" on the offchance it might work.....it does!!!!.
my overall impression of the unit is very good,
the gps is mint and dosnt mess up like my old garmin or tomtom units did,
the dvd player is good though takes a little while to start playing, radio is fine tunes in fine holds stations fine,
cd playback is good but again takes a little while to play initially but is fine once it has started
tv tunes in and holds stations great now i finally got a decent powered aerial for it instead of a cheapie from flebay.
i havent tested the various outputs for extra screens and cameras etc as i havent got any.....yet!
touch screen is pretty responsive once its recallibrated and works with even my sausage like clumsy fingers just fine
picture quality is ok but a little blocky at times
plays mp3's of sd cards fine but REALLY needs a better menu and selection system if you are using cards with loads of files like i tried
screen in and out is smooth and steady no vibration or shuddering
screen stability when deployed is fine and firm even when on a bumpy lane
flip front is brilliant and small so could be stashed in the smallest handbag or pocket and dosnt feel like it would break if you looked at it wrong
now my down points:-
the remote was designed and built by a chimp using chopsticks while wearing a blindfold its HORRID but it does work when you eventually figure out which button to stab
it takes an eternity to power down which could be a real arse if your alarm has a voltage detector built in.
if you have it connected to an ignition on system it occasionally gets confused and can do some random things like scare the bejesus out of you by coming on at full blast or feeding the screen out for you etc
all in all i am very pleased with the unit and its functions despite a few workable niggles
hopefully eonon will release a way of upgrading the inbuilt firmware to sort those out.
and mainly for the price you cannot beat it you could never assemble your own setup for less and have it work as easy
good luck with yours if you decide to get one

Try and find something with a faster CPU (around 600Mhz), SIRF 4 receiver module and Win CE 6.0 (make sure it's English OS). A lot of the cheaper China GPS systems are only around 400Mhz and come with WinCE 5.0 which may limit what you can run on the system in future.
You can get the software from GPS Underground.

That's an awful lot of money for what is a fairly basic outdated Chinese GPS system. It will have the standard Chinese Atlas SIRF 3 chipset and 2GB is not enough memory. I think it'll struggle to play movies and do GPS at the same time with only a 400Mhz CPU...a lot of SIRF 3 systems struggle to play MP3's and do GPS! http://www.zenec.com/index.php?id=126&L=1

It is the best I have seen so far. Where do you get the information regarding CPU and OS. It is not on their website. You can get the software from GPS Underground.

pretty much all the Chinese systems use the SIRF chip set and receiver, coupled to an Atlas CPU. If it says the receiver is an SIRF 3, then the CPU will be either 350Mhz or 400Mhz and the OS will be WinCE 5.0. It'll be an OK GPS unit, and will run iGo 8.0 fine. You may be able to get TomTom working on it to with a bit of tweaking.
It's worth waiting till the SIRF 4 chipset makes its way into the 'all-in-one' units. These will have a faster CPU >550Mhz and will run iGo 8.3 and TomTom 7.x
