French map query in UK

I have a tom tom one with a French map as well as te uk one.
If I try and open the french map it tells me I havea problem. Is this because I am in the UK. I need to sort it as I am off the Fance on Thursday and hope I haven't corrupted the file in the year since I last used it in France.
