Hi

I have co-pilot 8 on my iPhone, since upgrading to the latest iOS4-compatible release I find that it really drains the battery even after I have turned it off.

ALK have said this about the release:

ALKTechnologies said:
CoPilot Live and Multitasking – the benefits
One of the key enhancements brought by iOS4 is multitasking – the ability to run more than one application at a time on an iPhone. For CoPilot Live customers, this is a useful feature that enables you to continue to receive navigation guidance when on a phone call or while using other apps.

However, we realise there are instances where you would want to exit CoPilot Live rather than keep it running in the background – not least to conserve battery power.

With this in mind, CoPilot Live is already designed to switch-off GPS receiving after 10 minutes if a position fix is not detected. By following steps 3 to 6 outlined in the instructions above, you can switch off CoPilot Live completely.
But it is a real pain in the bum to remember to do this every time it I've use it, and if the phone is left outside or near a window, it will always get a GPS fix and so will keep running.

Well, to be fair, it's up to you to remember to turn it off when you stop using it.
