Which Satnav? - Small - EuroMaps - Speedlimit Warning

I dont really like the idea of satnav much and so far havent bought one and do all my driving with a pair of paper maps and the help of googlemaps.

However come a sunday evening after a weekend at a friends or on the boat there's something very tedious having to get a map out to get home, even if you dont get lost.

Ive also now got 8 points and am not looking for anymore, so while im not expecting to replace constant vigilance and a push to drive slower with technology, every little helps, and if it could blep at me when i got over the limit (motorways and sideroads) that would awesome too.

Any thoughts suggestions?

I dont want to pay more than i have to, but equally, price isnt really a driver.

I also want something fairly small/compact if possible for us in the kitcar when driving in Europa.

I normally use this company, http://www.totalpda.co.uk/TomTom.10026/?osCsid=g37...
They supply refurbished tom toms with full warranty so you can make a saving.

Be careful that the Europe maps supplied do cover the part of Europe you are going to.

I purchased a ‘anymake’ from e bay for my recent trip to Bulgaria as tom tom wanted £80 for the map as Bulgaria is not in Europe its eastern Europe. The ‘anymake' was brilliant and am using it in the uk.

For speed warnings you are probably better with tom tom.

Hi,

The biggest selling range we have is the Navigon range which cover Europe as standard so i'd recommend looking at their new range just comign into stock now. The 2510 has a 3.5" screen (http://www.thesatnavwarehouse.com/productdb/navigon_2510_explorer/index.html) and the 40Plus has a 4.3" (http://www.thesatnavwarehouse.com/productdb/navigon_40_plus/index.html) but other than that ther is very little difference. Both have a speed limit warning, both havd free lifetime TMC and they've been out for about two weeks.

We had our fingers burnt when we purchased refurbished TomToms from Total PDA a year or so ago. Well over half we purchased were faulty so just be careful with them.

Hope that helps,

Phil
