Roadhawk RH-1 black box recorder / car camera
Discussion
I am considering the Roadhawk RH-1 recorder http://www.roadhawk.co.uk/roadhawk-RH-1.htm
Does anyone have any experiences of this? I am paricularly interested in the quality of night time / dusk footage. TIA.

i would also consider the novus Eye plus, you can plugin a 2nd camera and also we have sold a few units to customers who have sent the road hawk back as the novus eye plus had a better picture quality...

I've got two RH1 systems, front and back. 4gb and a 16gb (weeks worth of footage, but I drive a lot) in front both running MEGA quality. Just get basic size SDHC and then buy bigger off eBay. Much cheaper.
Only real issues are sun glare, however, any camera will have these issues. After all you don't normally video into the sun! You'll get a bit of glare on cloudy days into the sun. Again, any camera will have these problems.
One thing to bare in mind is a video converter, if you want to post online. Don't buy off the Roadhawk site. You can get free converters online but at the moment MEGA is not supported. Night time is ok but if it's dark you'll not be able to see anyway! View good footage under street lights and headlights.
RH1 has two year warranty.
Same as X-Driven for US Market, but watch for warranty issues if you buy this model.
Need any more info just ask.

Wish I had a Roadhawk today on M25 J18 C/W... I changed lanes and pulled in close behind a car 30/40m in front of a big artic doing c.10mph in an outer lane. I never took up his space as I pulled in close to the car in front rather than crossing him but artic driver accelerated hard and so he closed the gap albeit only after I merged, and his horns went on etc etc as if they were an early Xmas present. He then tail-gated me 1m or 2m off my back bumper
On approaching the entry slip after the junction, he then veered left onto said entry slip and undertook me and then tried to side swipe me into the middle lane which was crammed with traffic. I saw what he was trying to do and actually stopped to avoid him hitting me. He missed me by inches.
His reg was KX57HDV, a big plain white eff-off artic rig. He had a "How Am I Driving" sticker on his trailer - call 0800 225533. The operative there said his transport manager will reprimand him. IMO that's complete bo11ocks, will he feck!!
My next spare £200 quid will be spent on a Roadhawk camera.
