Heads-Up - Problem With Software Update For TT x40s

Don't install the current software update for Tomtom when you next connect, problems with x40 units will cause Live services to stop working.

If you updated your GO x40 LIVE to application version 9.054, your GO may no longer be able to receive LIVE Services. Your GO can not connect to the network of our provider (error 1008).

To solve this, we recommend that you install the previous application version 8.371. Remove the application currently installed on your GO using TomTom HOME. HOME will then offer the previous application version.
Attention: Once the previous application is installed, HOME will offer the new application. Do NOT install that application.

Now I know.... Spent 25 minutes loading this morning as TomTom havent stopped x40's loading it.
Went out as it took so long I was late and was 2 miles down the road before I noticed no traffic bar!
Then when I tried to google an address it said the sim card was at fault.

Thankfully there is a way to rectify (delete the new file then reload old one) but then you need to put passwords etc back in.. and its not the new fancy version...

I've updated mine but am not 100% convinced, for a start I can no longer operate the unit through Tomtom Home, weird.

After crashing while downloading and waiting nearly 40 minutes, it seems like it may be alright.
Had the usual errors - sim not recognised codes 111 qnd 114 so thought it was the same as before.
Drove out to the chippy tonight with it on and suddenly the traffic bar appeared and all seems ok.....

No problem with connecting to Home with mine as of yet.
