I recently used a Garmin adjustable mount (and a cheap hard case cover) as the basis for an in car mount for my HTC Desire. About a fiver to build so far, but the adhesive on the dashboard mounting disc I bought through ebay (from HK) isn't strong enough to stay still on the dash of my car.

Does anyone know of one that has decent strong adhesive that won't leave any permanent marks?

Had the same problem, I use those little double sided pads (four of them) on the bottom of the disk. Has held for the past few months. Shouldn't leave marks either.

Where do you get them from - is that the same sort of thing as the ones you can get for sticking on an internal mirror?

I got them off Mrs.Tunku. She's not sure where she got them, but they are not the ones for rear view mirrors. She does a lot of craft stuff and reckons W.H.Smiths, Tesco etc. would probably have them.

Cheers, I shall do a bit of hunting.
