I have had a Garmin satnav for a few years now and think it is about time to get a map update. Problem is Garmin charge some stupid amount like £67.

At that price I would rather just buy a newer system.

Any advise welcomed.

Buy a new satnav!
It's what I'd be looking at doing, get a discount on the new one, ebay the old one & it won't cost you a lot.

How would I get a discount on the new one?

Should I get another Garmin? Do other companies charge less for the maps?

Hellfrauds usually have discounts on sat navs, someone on PH may be able to recommend a quidco with loyalty points money back deal so you only pay tuppence ha'penny for a new one.

If you look around on-line, you can find some good Garmin deals which include free lifetime (of the SatNav) mapping updates.

Alternatively, Garmin nuMaps lifetime Europe can be found for a pretty good price.
