I've had three TomToms, the present one being a 550.

Screens on the first two were responsive to the touch, but the 550 is often hit and miss.

It will put two or three letters up when entering a single letter, or skip the selection of route type, selecting one at random, then going on to plan the route. Sometimes takes a few attempts to get it to show the correct menu.

Seems to improve if I hit the screen quickly with a finger.

Anybody else have this problem, or do I have to knock on Mr TomTom's door?

I have a 750 and the input lag is atrocious and bordering on the unusable. Never had any problem with my previous 510.

Any problem with it deciding which menu to show next?

Since the introduction of Navcore 9 on the x50 the screen response hasn't been anything like as good as it was with Navcore 8 installed.

http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/9.120.522...

You can try the new Navcore update on the device it works on 550, 750 and 950 from what we have found out over on PGPSW, the download is simply extracted to the drive letter associated with the TomTom using WinRar for best results. No idea why TomTom Home isn't offering all users this update, but no harm in trying it.

Note to mods, the above link isn't hacked software its a direct download straight from the servers at TomTom - Mike

My XL Live got noticeably less responsive following one of the updates they chucked out, it used to be OK when I first bought it.
