Hi all

So i have a c30 volvo for 2 years, never had anything wrong with it,

went to the shops yesterday and go back in car. but the key in ignition immobiliser steering unlocked fine as normal. turn to start car and nothing. no crank.

checked on line in the forum and found that if i lock unlock 5 times it will reset immobiliser did that and it started. then drove around fine.

today just dropped kids off at school same thing has happened but this time the unlock lock 5 times didn't work.

any ideas what this could be ?

Try changing the battery - can cause all manner of problems when they start to die

If the battery has any less than 12 volts the cars ecb might not let it start.
Get it started and to a garage for a battery check/replacement. Unless you have a volt meter thingy to check yourself.

Im having very similar issues.

New Battery
New Starter
New Alternator

All tested and ok.

Solenoid has a nice heavy click, so power def getting to it, but starter will not turn at all.

Its a Volvo C30 2.0 d 08 plate.

It is now really doing my nut in as everything is, (so far as I can go anyway), working as it should.

Does anyone out there have a clue? Im completely lost now.

In over 20 years as a roadside breakdown mechanic I have never come across this at all....

PROPERLY check all main connections between starter/batter/engine/chassis.
