2010 XC70 D5 cambelt fitting

In process of changing the timing belt using the OEM Volvo kit - No problems until I tried fitting the new belt but I'm unable to get the belt onto the Tensioner pulley? It seems to be a few mm short? Anyone have a simple way of fitting a new cambelt. I've watched several U tube vids on the belt change but none of them show you how to fit the new belt onto the pulleys - Help please
I've also tried fitting the belt around the tensioner pulley B4 bolting tensioner to the engine, this seems possible but with lack of space there's no way to line up the bolt accurately without fear of X threading it in the aly block!!
