Hi all,
I'm considering trading my 70 plate S60 T5 for an XC90 and looking at the T8 engine, 2022 onwards.
What are these like in terms of reliability, economy, battery only range etc?
It would be a mix of short but also long journies.

Any thoughts on the car as a whole? Good quality? reliable and comfortable?

I’m also considering swapping my 2019 6GT for a 2023/24 XC90 T8 so I would be very interested in owners feedback.

What’s the quality like overtime, real world MPG, what’s it drive like on 21”s.

Any info gratefully recieved.

Honest John's is the place to go for a good spread of "real world MPG" figures.

No direct experience but I considered a similar move.

Google 'Volvo ERAD' first and see what you think.

I have had my 2021 XC60 T8 for a year now and not had any issues at all. It’s a lovely car and fairly swift for its weight and size.

Edit to add: it does about 20 miles on a full charge. Economy is excellent, especially in hybrid mode.

From what I understand that affected the earlier cars with the smaller batteries?

It does, and as far as im aware it is the clutch that goes.

The later ERADs dont even have a clutch.

2023 T8 (recharge) no issues at all - I do think it was the early cars that were impacted in the main

Thank you, it's 23/24 we're looking at. Going to test drive in 2 weeks.
