02 plate V70 door open warning message

On my dad's V70 the interior light comes on and the dashboard display shows that the NS rear door is open, after going over a pot hole, bump etc. Can anybody please help with this as he finds it annoying!

more than likely will require new complete door lock,does the door shut fully,i.e. both stages of closing and does the door look flush to the body when fully closed ? changed a few complete door locks for this fault,its a fault with the micro switches.

Yes it closes completely and looks flush. It's probably only been opened about 20 times in 5 years! But then maybe that's the problem...

one more thing to try is open the door and use a screwdriver to manually operate the locking arm,push as far as it will go a few times,this operates the switch slightly further and so can unstick the switch,worth a try,but dont bank on it if not will require new door lock.

forgot to mention,pull the outer door handle after each movement of the lock when operating manually with screwdriver,the door wont close if you dont!
