Model Tractors

Take the pi$$ if you wish but as a kid (some time ago now) I used to adore my Britains model farm kit, especially the Merc tractor I had. Anyway, I shed a tear every time I look at Britains models now and for some time have not seen anything that I would be prepared to buy my own kits - all too plasticy and too low on detail.

The good news is that Weise Toys have started making some crackers - not the cheapest but the detail and build quality is great - I'm about to buy one. Have a look at the 'mogs in the link:

Britains still do models that are more detailed than their normal fare.
Usually sell for around £50

model shop at snetterton has lots of farm models if you like that kinda thing

worth a look if ever you are passing , think they do online too

My local modelzone has a number of farm based models some of which look very detailed indeed. I have no idea who makes them or how authentic they are but if you have a shop locally worth popping in.

I'd forgotten about Britains farm models. I grew up on a farm and had a pretty substantial collection, which mirrored the equipment we had on the farm. Thanks for reminding me.

I've got a couple of Siku and Wiking models, they seem to be the best for detail. Like your Fendt by the way.

I had stacks of the Britains stuff too. Still have somewhere in my parents loft. I think it was the best Christmas ever when I get my yellow New Holland combine - I'd been staring longingly at the one in the glass display cabinet at the Co-Op toyshop for months.

Another vote for Siku (1:50 IIRC). My son loves them (4yrs old).
