Exactly the right approach to heavily worn machinery

Treat the surface of the model as a canvas to colour in

I'm not overkeen on "every panel line should be a black line" school of modelling myself, but he has done a fabulous job of this one

His modelling itself is great

I thought so too - although it is amazing how battered and faded WW2 aircraft could get.
