Hi Guys,

I lost my beloved Raptor helicopter last weekend due to a manufacturing fault in my Sanwa / Airtronics RDS8000 transmitter.

Roll control was lost mid-flight and she augered in from about 15m up and beat hell out of herself. I take great pride in thoroughly pre-flighting my aircraft and as a result I have only lost one bird to a preventable failure in over 25 years of flying. To say I am gutted is an understatement. I am re-kitting he helicopter at great expense.

The loss of roll control is attributable to the fracture of an orange wire connected to the back of the right-hand gimbal. Below is a photo of my Tx - I have highlighted the offending wire.

So, if you fly RDS8000, please check your Tx-es...!!!

Thanks, I use on for my Rock Crawler and Tamiya 1/14 Truck, so the failure would not be so dramatic, but I had better check!!
