So i've done the standard PH search & can't find anything that matches my answers.
I'm looking at getting the kids a model rocket each for Xmas.
I remember about 10 years ago i bought myself a RTF rocket from a gadget shop at Cribbs Causeway.
It was about 12 inches high & came with a little stand & launch station, then you just fired it up in the air after sticking the wadding & engine in it.
I'd like to get them something similar, but i have absolutely no idea what i need to buy?
Any pointers?

Sorry I didn't getback to you sooner, sounds like you found what you were looking for though. I usually buy mine from my local model shop. In fact I still have some rockets I bought in the US back in 1989 and 1990.
That's about when I started the hobby, Had just been taken to the Kennedy space centre by my parents and loved it. The hobby also got me started towards a carer in engendering. The first real peace of software I wrote was a CAD system for rockets. With stability and drag calculations. I also Built a launch tower so that you don't need to have the launch lugs and all that extra drag. Having said that pocket money did not fund that many multi stage launches. yorkieboy said:
