SimilR Ford GT LeMans
Just ordered myself one of these brand new kits, SimilR have only made two kits so far, this and the 2010 Ford Focus WRC which by all accounts was a bit rubbish
Hopefully this one will be a lot better, I'm going to build it with a Fujimi mkI GT40 chassis 1075, that I have a resin engine to go into, as a sort of old and new LeMans build

They're an interesting company with some interesting subjects.
They've actually produced more than the Focus (which was poorly received in some quaters) and the GT, they created models of the Lola Aston V12 for the VDS Kronos team as competed in the 2011 24 Heures du Mans. I've also seen an example of the Pescarolo-Judd LMP1 that they are releasing next year, although I'm not sure if that is general release or within team/supporters club. Good kits of contemporary LMP cars are hard to come by, especially in the larger scales, so hopefully they can overcome the initial issues of the Focus. Developing the kits to include engines would be good as well.

Wish i could get one in the spec of the one our team ran. (GT3)
Although I could adapt because that kit looks pretty damn good.
OP can we have a build thread?

How significant were/are the differences, Oliver?Although I could adapt because that kit looks pretty damn good.

Drop me an email through my profile, if you want, and we'll have a chat about possibilities.

Mostly aero, front splitter, wings, rear engine cover, front bumper, rear wing and mounts and interior to name a few. Drop me an email through my profile, if you want, and we'll have a chat about possibilities.
Think I'm going to give it ago myself as I have worked very closely to the car so I have the best chance at something resembling the real thing.
Other little ideas I have for instance is we have cans of the proper paint for the chassis and cage meaning I can get it the right shade of grey. Or am I sad?

Not at all, it's that level of research and detail that makes all the difference in my book. Make sure you let us know how it goes.Think I'm going to give it ago myself as I have worked very closely to the car so I have the best chance at something resembling the real thing.
