Repairing Scalextric track
Discussion
Sorry, I'm sure this has probably been done loads of times before but the search facility is broken (refreshingly).
I have a box load of old Scalextric track (80s vintage) Last time I put it together only one side worked - what's the best way to clean it all up to see if I can get it working again?
Thanks

I've used these before and have worked very well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PECO-PL-41-Model-Railway...
as has been suggested track cleaning rubber or scouring pads on the actual metal tracks, make sure any wire links are there and replace / resolder if needed
cosmetic wise has anyone tried washing the track in a washing machine or dishwasher and then drying throughly in an airing cupboard etc ?
( dishwasher or in a pillow case in the washing machine is a well established trick for cleaning up lego )
