Can ni-cad batteries be saved?

I have a number of little used ni-cad power tools and the batteries don't hold charge for long. Is there anything I can do to 'fix' them?

The best way to put life back into old Ni-Cads is to put them through a charge-discharge cycle. Hopefully you have charger that can also discharge, do this 4-6 times and you'll probably see an improvement in the charge they hold. Best of luck
