I am quite tempted - I remember having this for Christmas when I was a kid, and made a right pig's ear out of it. I would like to have another go and do it properly this time..

I remember standing in a shop in Dublin 30 plus years ago and a small child pointing at the Airfix Bentley and saying to his mother, "Mammy, can you buy me that tractor?".
I immediately thought, old W O would not have been impressed. Although Ettore Bugatti would have known where the toddler was coming from smile

I've got one of the earlier boxing's in my stash, picked up on ebay for £12, but nice to see it back on general release.

Is it me, or do the older style box art for these kits look so much better than the new ones?

I wonder if there will be some after market PE sets for this....

There is no doubt that the Roy Cross era of Airfix box art is pretty iconic. But I have to say that the new CGI art work Airfix is commissioning is pretty much the best art work around at the moment in the modelling world.

I just love these -

I've had a ride out in the full size version of this car smile

I'd love to build the model, but I wouldn't be able to touch the quality of the 1:18 version on my desk so didn't bother! wink

Let's hope the quality of the parts is better. About 10yrs ago one of the Airfix employees told me that the machinery in France was very old, hence some of the misshapen parts and generally dodgy quality. It will be interesting to see if they have updated any of the parts.
