Obviously direct sunlight is a no-no. What about natural light levels in general? And artificial lighting?

Trying to spec some display cabinets for good quality die-cast models. Want to make sure I protect them from dust and light as much as possible.

As long as they're out of direct sunlight they should be fine, whites will be the hardest to protect. They tend to yellow over time regardless of what you do, certainly in my experience anyway.

Ultraviolet is probably the main problem, so uncovered halogen lamps may be an issue in the long term. Putting them behind glass would block of the solar UV.

I made a vulcan and painted in anti-flash white, its been sat in the same position for almost three years now, i'll to have a proper look into if its yellowed at all.

Was airbrushed then airbrushed with Klear floor varnish. A trick i learnt from some of the modeling forums.

Most cabinets I'm looking at feature downlights, some with additional smaller halogens down the side. I'm concerned these could bleach.

It's a bit of a pain this whole topic. Finding cabinets is hard. Finding cabinets in which you can place models and actually see them is difficult. Not damaging them even more so.
