Marblehead or 1 meter yacht build recommendations
Discussion
Now the nights are drawing in I'm currently looking for a winter project as an alternative to doing the DIY I really ought to be doing...
I'd like to build a Marblehead / 1m size RC yacht, probably from a plan and ideally something with a reasonable set of instructions. Although I have built a number of model aeroplanes in the past (and an airboat...) I haven't any experience of model yachts.
Looking for something that is going to look pretty and (ultimately) sail nicely.
Any recommendations . guidance would be appreciated...
Thanks

Have a look at racing sparrow, builds to a nice 750mm hull, or there are alternate sizes. I find a marblehead a big beast, it limits the ponds you can sail on & also transport. My one just fits fully rigged in a Jeep Grand Cherokee! Might be worth looking in your area for what others sail. I don't race but it is probably where you'll end up.
Cheers guys, I have bought plans for a Nimbus Mk3 (IOM). They sail IOMs at the lake along the road from me, so there is opportunity to get some local advice.
Primary plan is to build it as a winter activity, (I sail real boats in the Summer), with the sailing being the bonus and bit of mid week entertainment, so will see if I end up racing...!
