Is anyone likely to be interested in these models?
Discussion
Hi all. I didn't realise there was a model section here! I wonder if anyone here could help with a question my mother has.
My grandfather used to build models from plans that he collected decades ago and below are some of the models he made. My mother is looking to get rid of them but doesn't want to just throw them away if someone was interested in them so I was wondering where would be the best place to contact, or indeed if anyone here had an opinion. She still has the plans apparently so repairs or modifications should be possible.
Thanks in advance. I have absolutely no idea about models so any information is gratefully received!
Edit - they're about 25cm long each.

I wonder would one of the folk and/or agricultural museums be interested? They are far too good to just dump.
Many museums will accept display items on loan - so if you found an interested museum, you would have the best of both worlds - have them on display for appreciation by a wider audience and keeping them in family possession.

I can understand people being sentimental about things like this but I never remember seeing them at my grandparent's house or him ever doing any model making work so they have no connection for me. I do remember him having some great model ships but he threw those all away himself!
The museum idea is an interesting one. My mother is looking for a permanent home for them really though. Are there any model forums that would have people on who would be interested in taking them?

All I can suggest is that you try those forums - if you don't want to bother with the museum route. The museum idea is an interesting one. My mother is looking for a permanent home for them really though. Are there any model forums that would have people on who would be interested in taking them?
I frequent scale plastic forums such as Britmodeller and The Unofficial Airfix Forum. However, they are geared more for those who build plastic kits.
I am sure if you do a Google search you will find some forums for people who collect this slightly rare type of model. Perhaps a model engineering forum might be best.

To have made those models from plans is amazing. The detail is fantastic. They deserve a good home where they will be displayed.
