NiMH Charging ... sanity check please
Discussion
Christmas saw _y3k Jnr with a Tamiya GrassHopper kit and a big smile.
He's been building it slowly with little help from me and so far he's learnt quite a few things.
However he wondered in last night to say that it was time to charge the battery.
As part of the deal, we were given the following charger :
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fusion-vector-nx85-del...
So we fish it out the box and find the relevant plug.
PLug Red wire into the red and black into the black.
Grab first battery and attempt to plug in, and hit a problem.
The two wires coming out the battery, red / black terminate in a plug. However the plug will only fit the charger plug IF it's reversed, ie. Battery Red into Charger Black.
that can't be right ???

Looking at that charger, the Tamiya charging lead is separate, and connects to a couple of spring terminals on the charger.
Connect the lead to the battery, then plug the bare wires into the charger so that battery red goes to charger red, and battery black goes to charger black.
If the colours on the lead are then wrong, it doesn't matter.
It's not unknown for the Chinese to put the wires on these leads the wrong way round.
