Any suggestions/experiences?

I've heard the IKEA Bertby cabinet is supposed to be pretty decent but not in production any more.

They do these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/1001105...

My Uncle has a large collection of 1/18 F1 cars and had a case made for them by these people http://www.picture-pride-displays.co.uk/index.php which is very nice, but quite expensive.

Yeah the Bertby is good but as you say is not made any more. I have 3 of them but only 1 slot left so will be watching ebay as they come up on there quite regularly.

7-8 at the mo, but if counting others I have in another location gathering dust, up to 14-15.

Collection is constantly growing of late, was just wondering what others use. It's the space more than anything that's an issue as I'm runnng out of gaps on bookshelves!

Tbh, I'm not that bothered about them being out on display and gathering dust. I quite enjoy polishing them on a weekly basis

I bought a couple of these tonight, along with the light. Should get one assembled tomorrow and feedback. Judging by the dimensions, should be able to get two 1:18 models per shelf.

Finished assembling mine about an hour ago. Not bad for £40. I've yet to fit the (additional) light (£7.25).

Agreed regarding the spaces. How did you fit the extra shelves? Looks great cool

i got some glass cut at my local window place, think it was about £20. i used catenery wire clamps bolted around the uprights and just sat the glass on top. you can sort of see in this pic.

I've used a couple of these from Argos with two extra shelves:

Does that keep the dust out OK?

There's about a 5mm gap between the glass doors which I fill with a bit of black plastic joining strip for upvc cladding. (I took them off for the pictures)Seals the gaps and blends in well with the cabinet.

Otherwise very little dust gets in.

Get yourslef some Ikea Billy book cases with glass doors. Big and easy to construct and you can buy extra glass shelves and lights to make them look cooler. Dust isn't a problem unless you live in a sawmill. I have four of them full of stuff like this:

Where did you get the clips from? What size are the clips?

I have 3 display cases from old ikea stock no longer have room for them, had to pack my sons model cars in their boxes but don't want to destroy them, they are ideal for about 30 1/18 model cars anyone interested please let me know.

Alternatively, use individual stackable cases

I need to buy a couple more, for the FF and Mondial 8

Available at quite reasonable cost from Amjo boxes - www.amjoboxes.co.uk
