Modelfest 2013 - Camberley 21st September
Discussion
Just in case you guys were not aware there is a model show in Camberley tomorrow from 10am until 4pm.
I've been the last few years and there is always a great selection of models on display and a reasonable amount of traders selling both tools/paints and kits (including hard to find stuff)...

The Tombola is good value too, last year I walked away with a 1/72nd B-17 for £1 (which still isn't built!!)

How was it? You HAVE to buy models when in a shop or show!!
It seems to have gone very well and hopefully we'll have raised a decent sum for our local hospice (The Phyllis Tuckwell). My list of purchases were -
a bagged FROG Meteor IV (no decals or instructions)
a Matchbox Mosquito
the Matchbox Douglas Skynight
the new Airfix Bomber Support Set
a Fujimi F-4JPhantom
the new Roden ATL98 Carvair
the latest edition of Fine Scale Modeler
the new Warpaint on the Me262
the latest "Build and Convert".

I haven't read it in detail but I am loathe to be too dismissive of others' efforts.
Many of the earlier publications featured work by Mike Grant who I think is an exceptional modeller - so models by others may not come up to his standards.
Looks like Gary Hatcher edited the latest one I saw, but Mike Grant was the author of the one I bought. Many of the earlier publications featured work by Mike Grant who I think is an exceptional modeller - so models by others may not come up to his standards.
If someone writes a 'how to' book on how to build models, they are fair game for critcism IMO.
It was also Euromilitaire down in Folkestone. For the first time I can remember there was a long queue to get in even an hour after the doors had opened - could there be an upsurge in interest?
As an aside it was impossible not to come away with a haul, Azimut were offering deals and they're always handy for laundering the left over Euros from the summer hols - a Riich Mk1 Universal carrier and Meng Merkava 3 Baz with Nochri came home with me!
