LEGO show Swindon - some amazing builds
Discussion
Took my Lad on our annual trip to the Great Western Lego show in Swindon today. Some great builds this year with an amazing B52 bomber, and really well detailed 1960's BR railway layout.
Standout ones for me though were the Ecurie Ecosse transporter with D-type jags, and the FORD racing transporter with Lotus F1 car and Alan Mann Racing escort/GT40 combo.
Here are a few pics :
Massive mosaic that was being built tile by tile - you could join in with this build.

Rather large space shuttle

The stig puts in an appearance

My show favourite - amazing B52

great bit of lego railway modelling

Cut away working model of RR Trent engine.

Nice Mini

Gold-leaf team Lotus F1

Lotus with FORD transporter

Alan Mann escort and GT40

Top Gear boys argue over new caterham

nice railfreight scene with 08 shunter

60's rolling stock galore

detailed class 08

Medieval village scene

hope you enjoyed these. Would recommend the show to anybody who has a liking for LEGO

Some epic stuff on show!
So is this a display by amateur Lego enthusiasts or 'official'? I'm assuming the former.
Perhaps I'm sounding a little old but it's lovely to see Lego still going strong in this technological age. Fair play to them for moving with the times and ensuring they are covering the market with stuff like Star Wars, LOTR etc.

the show is organised by 'the brickish association'which is a club for adult lego fans/builders - most of the models on show were built by members of this club or other lego clubs.
date is normally 1st weekend in October, venue is the steam museum at Swindon - hence the show is known as the great western lego show.
i think there may also be a similar show in Manchester so might be worth a look on the web
