Dji Phantom Vision
Discussion
Hi All,
Anyone thinking of getting a DJI vision?
Currently I have a AR drone 2.0 which is kinda fun, but not very technical, nor is it particularly any good at flying. A lot of jittery software etc..
Been looking into buying a Vision for xmas, anyone flown the previous model or maybe already got the Vision?

I thought long and hard about this, and ended up buying the Phantom 1.1.1. I've had it for a week now and I'm very happy with it.
The reasons I went for the original over the vision were:
1) I already had a GoPro Hero 3 Black, and wanted to make use of that.
2) With a body off rebuild of my TVR planned for the winter I couldn't afford the £900 straight off!
3) Additional batteries for mine are £25ish each, vision batteries are nearer £100 each!!
4) I plan to upgrade mine with a Zenmuse gimbal at Xmas therefore spreading the costs, this and my GoPro will be transferable onto the bigger F550 Flamewheel Hexicopter that I plan to upgrade to (the Vision's inbuilt systems will not).
The phantom as a platform is really nice and has huge capability, I'm very impressed with it. The shop I bought it from (who really specialise in bigger stuff) described it as a toy, but I think it's more than that, it's a properly considered product. As a designer, I was really concious about how it would look, I was worried that it might be a bit too Toys'R'Us. In reality it looks great, very Star Wars droid like when in flight.
Whatever route you decide, you wont be dissapointed.
Regards,
Olly
