I can only imagine the conversation my Dad had in the shop...

"I'd like to buy a train set for my Grandson please, he's two."
"Well 2 years old is a little young for Hornby sir"
"No not two years, two months."
"......"

Unfortunately this resurrected family Xmas tradition (the train carries condiments) got a bit out of hand this year, first my brother broke out his old N-Gage which impressively worked straight away after nearly ten years in a dusty box. And suddenly a box of old Scaletrix appeared. We got a little unpopular with the female members of the family at this point...

So did anyone else have a big boys toys Christmas?

Plus my brother and my father in law.

The Magners is mine wink

We did get in trouble for the WD40, apparently it stained the tablecloth but it did make the chicanes more interesting!

...and I bet you had as much fun with that simple layout on the dining room table, than a lot of others have with entire lofts devoted to the hobby.

Our lad 6 got a lego power technics rc off-roader to build, unfortunately it's still unopened for now as we had a traumatic Christmas and New year, but we will get it moving soon.

I got an airbrush which means I now have no excuse not to build the bbmf airfix collection for him and his sister that we picked up last year.

I have two daughters aged 3.5 and 1.5 so thought it only fair that I educated them on a bit of slot racing and dusted off my old Carrera sets that I have had sat in boxes for nearly 10 years now!

We set-up a smallish track in our converted loft but I've sort of got excited about the idea of making it more of a permanent thing and possibly extending it haha
