Wow that brings back some memories I rember getting for my birthday 6353 - coastguard boat, then over the year with my pocket money all saved up I got 6541 & 6542 the 2 ferry terminals. I can still to this day remember the toy shop I purchased it in down in the West Country whilst on holiday. I'll have to ask the parents where it was.

Somewhere I even have a photo of our cat at the time managing to fit underneath the crane legs smile

Edited to add I had 6356 - Air ambulance as well.

I had the fort and pirate ship, would probably be worth a tidy sum these days had I not lost half the pieces to the vacuum cleaner and given the rest away.

Massive throwback, this era of Lego was the best IMO.

I never had an interest in the space stuff or Pirates. but i remember a friend having one of the boats that could actually float and remember being very jealous.

I had quite a few of the kits out of that catalogue - the police station, one the race cars, one of the blacktron spy ships, I built the M-trons big ship for somebody, I also had the technic dirt bike and jeep.

In fact I still have the Model Team transport truck, trailer and helicopter in my parents loft though there are a few bits missing I need to order to make it complete, I must get round to that.

I always wanted the model team rally van (5550), I still do actually!

I do remember begging my mum for the lego trains for Christmas but never got them frown

I know I have one of these in the loft smile

I'm sure that was the year they went from 12v to 9v for the trains and had loads of new train stuff in there which I wanted sooo much. Never got any of it though frown It was expensive to be fair.

The culture show on BBC last night was about lego, worth catching on Iplayer.

Great find, i used to collect thing like that. Next time when i go in my loft i'll have to see if i can find some myself.

From that catalog i had two of the technic models and the medics plane and race track on the board. I still have all the parts but no instructions. See if i can find them

I had 6267 the soldiers tavern, I also had 6386, the police station. I'm 26 now and still have lego, recently got the X-Wing fighter, BTTF DeLorean and the VW camper van. It's amazing how they've came along, back then; barring the pirates, pretty much everyone had the same head and face lol.
