Build or keep? Kyosho RGV500

I recently purchased a Kyosho "Hang Off Racer" RGV500.
I've always wanted one of these since I was a kid and couldn't resist as I'm starting get interested in RC stuff again after years.
It's complete, and I want to build it for a play around but should I keep it as is?

When you were a kid did you want to look at it in the box or play with it? Which do you want to do now? I really don't understand this mint untouched collectors toy lark, i'd much rather play with the thing. Maybe thats why I'm permanently broke.
