As a bit of "quick therapy" I decided to do another one of the EasyBuild Hobbyboss kits. As it happens, it took as long for me to finish this as it would have done for any similar sized kit. I fancied doing the pre-war "yellow wing" option in the kit so it was the masking and painting that took up most of the time.

The white over and under wing diagonals are not provided as decals so they needed to be painted. Also. Hobbyboss say that the cowling should be light gray but I have a picture of the actual aeroplane in these colours and the cowling definitely seems to be painted aluminium.

The coloured stripes on the props are also painted.

I've always had a yen for the "Yellow Wing" era of the US Navy and Army. I have a few more similar era model in the stash that I would like to do.

My next project set for completion is a 1/144 airliner that sat neglected part finished in a box for almost a decade. Hopefully, it'll be finished within a couple of weeks.

A couple of additional pictures - mainly to show the US Navy wooden deck section - courtesy of Coastal Kits - who do a number of prepainted diorama bases for models.
