eBay model listing mentioned 'swastika' , now cancelled
Discussion
I listed a couple of Corgi Junkers Ju88's on eBay last night (I'm clearing out some of my vast collection).
Awake this morning to an email from them stating I had breached their 'Discriminatory + Hurt' policy, and that the two listings had been pulled. I mentioned swastika's as authentic markings in the detail.
Is this for real?, I assume they must have some sort of text checker that trawls listing details (not title descriptions) looking for disallowed words? There are several similar sales for the same models, so I can only assume this to be the case, unless someone reported them.
Any one had anything similar?
Thanks
Nick

Perhaps by a tenner, although one seller had it listed for £199, pretty ridiculous.
Thanks

Well you say that but there's at least one Irish seller who's sold a couple of the Night fighter versions for approx £150 a piece recently. Most others seem to sell for between £50 and £80 though. Thanks

As for your other problem, quite a lot of the adverts on at the moment seem to have just cut and pasted the Corgi catalogue entry for the model which just refers to the authentic markings of the time. I'm slightly surprised that Ebay hasn't pulled some of them though as the box art quite clearly shows a swastika on it.

True, I did see a couple going for that which was possibly a fair price. Will relist I think but not use certain words! As for your other problem, quite a lot of the adverts on at the moment seem to have just cut and pasted the Corgi catalogue entry for the model which just refers to the authentic markings of the time. Indeed, yet the Auto & Technik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany has WW2 planes with Swastikas on their tails.
Probably classed as educational exhibits, in which case they are permitted. There are a few exceptions to the rules on showing swastikas eg for artistic, scientific or artistic reasons.dr_gn said:
