Tamiya Avante 2011 Re-Re

Does anyone know if I can still buy one of these new?

Up until recently there were a few people selling them on ebay, but all I can find now is one on Amazon from Japan (that will probably come with extortionate import duty)

Try tamico in Germany. They might have one - failing that, last time I looked they had an egress or two for sale.

Thanks for that. Had a look and they do indeed have an egress, but no avante unfortunately.

After all, the Egress is essentially an Avante with (almost) all the major design errors fixed.

So does the Avante Body fit straight on?

I'm not sure there, you'd have to do some googling. The Avante 2001 (released 1990) and Egress (1989 and re-re) both have a longer wheelbase than the original Avante from 1988 (on which the 2011 re-re was based if I recall correctly).

An original Avante body might fit with a little adjustment and holes moved and I think there is an Avante 2001 bodyshell available for the Egress.
