Displaying larger models.
Discussion
I visited North Lincs aviation centre last night and bought one of the 1/72 scale corgi models of "just Jane" the centre's Lancaster.
A 1/72 scale lanc is a pretty big thing and it won't fit in the glass fronted cabinet I intended to put it in. How do you display your larger models?
The wife likes this "shabby chic" look (new stuff, looks old, costs more) and anything I have has to fit with the decor. I was contemplating a shelf with some kind of glass/Perspex case to keep the model in to keep it safe from dust. It will be displayed along side a painting of guy Gibson and my photograph/certificate from my taxi ride in Jane a couple of years ago.

I have Corgi's 1/72 diecast Vulcan XH558. It is a big beast and currently sits on a custom shelf I made from a sheet of 12mm MDF. It's an ideal place to keep it up out of the way of the kids, but it doesn't tackle the issue of keeping it free from dust. I need to give this some more thought.
I have the same issue ...
I have quite a few of the corgi Aviation Archive models 1.72 scale, including the Lanc, Vulcan and B29.
I have two of the following IKEA glass unit's, and the only one not to fit is the Vulcan. However it scares me every time I open it as it never seems very strong ....
