Hi all,
I purchased an eBay Hotshot a few years ago now, and have been (very slowly) building it. It's been slow because it arrived missing so many parts I kept losing interest.

But I'm nearly there, and I have found I am missing one last piece. The sodding speed controller that is supposed to be in the kit. So, can anyone tell me if a TBLE-02S is suitable for my bog-standard build please?

Thanks

I bought Hornet a couple of years back...

Stuck a ridiculously expensive brushless set up in it, which makes it undriveable but it does mean I have whatever (I'd have to check tonight) ESC it came with brand new and not needed.

You would be more than welcome to it smile

TBLE-02s is the Standard Tamiya ESC from current assembly kits. A lot of the smaller retailers go to town swapping this ESC out of the package for a cheaper product and then sell the TBLE-02S on eBay for about £20.

It can be an absolute pig to set up as the instructions arent great, but it works and its brushless ready too.

It's a TEU-104B if that's any good for you?

I've just built a Super hotshot - thanks to Russy & his black Friday sales- and I've put this in it:

I'm not a big fan of the tamiya ESC's, I find they tend to leak smoke eek

Don - I'm disappointed in you.

Clearly you need to complete overspec the battery/ESC/motor to ensure that the completed vehicle goes like the clappers for 5 minutes before bursting into flames....;)

Very well mate - settling in oop north? smile

On the back of a PH article about R/C cars around this time last year (which brought back memories of racing them over 30 years ago) and having a bit of spare time, I thought I'd build an R/C kit again....ended up with 6 of them before I managed to stop myself rolleyes

Would thoroughly recommend one of these: http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Car_Showroom/CAT_K1_... or the new version it looks like they have just released. Utterly mental.

All good here, except we have started some 'improvements' to the house....

That looks like an insane bit of kit. My idea is to get the Dobermans chasing a Go-Pro on the car.... biggrin

It has just got here - thank you so much. It was a hard day at the hospital today, so the your generosity is even more felt today. Thank you again.

Pleasure, mate smile

Treated myself to a sensored brushless motor and ESC in 380 size for my lightweight Porsche 96 RM-01 project biggrin
