So over Christmas I got inspired to build a diorama (the first since I was a teenager some twenty years ago!) and started putting together the pieces I wanted to create a group of soldiers at rest. There's still a few things to put in place to fill some of the gaps, but this is the majority of it:

Building is the Miniart European Farmhouse
Ablutions figures are Miniart
Field kitchen and figures are Tamiya

Still to add is a couple more Tamiya eating figures and a Tamiya Kubelwagen and mechanic.

The farmhouse was a bit of a pain to build as it was almost entirely vac-formed plastic with no locating edges to connect, I muddled through but in hindsight I could have used plasticard to make supporting tabs. Also it's been a long time since I painted figures and I lack the patience / skill at the moment to do great details on them so have been relying on washes to bring out the details - something I need to improve upon!

I'll stick some other images up of the completed piece, but I'm currently taking a break from figures and am back on aircraft for a bit.

Nice! I've built a couple of Miniart dios in the past, I'm a big fan.

Thanks for the replies!

A small update so far, I've completed Tamiya 'soldiers at rest' and put them in place:

Just the Tamiya Kubelwagen and mechanic left to do, as well as a few accessories such as jerry cans or boxes and I'll call this one done.

Nice. Fancied doing the same type of thing myself.
Might be worth looking at some of the weathering options for the roof tiles. Some dark green wash should add some moss to the gaps.

Last update, I've got the final pieces added so I'm calling this one done:

I've enjoyed this, as stated earlier it's the first diorama I've made in many years and it's nice to have it finally done after about five months of working on it.
